Strings and voices unite when Albany Sinfonia joins forces with the About FACE Youth Choir for an unforgettable concert experience.
Antonin Dvorak’s 9th Symphony ‘New World’ is a powerful orchestral piece written while Dvorak was living in America in the 1890’s. One of his best-known works, the symphony features themes influenced by African-American spirituals and American folk melodies to give the work a unique, American sound. Dvorak’s New World is an audience favourite with its exquisite second movement and powerful, profound finale.
Albany Sinfonia is excited to perform this immense work for the Great Southern community, with the biggest orchestra of local players seen in years.
About FACE will bring vibrant youthful energy to the stage with an exciting and entertaining collection of songs. The choir’s combination of beautiful a Capella harmonies, clever choreography, snappy costumes and cheeky humour is guaranteed to delight and entertain.
Together, the Albany Sinfonia and About FACE Youth Choir will deliver a performance that transcends generations, uniting classical tradition with contemporary flair in a celebration of music’s enduring power to inspire and uplift.
